Before even stepping onto a Court, Beginners can practice games using the simple Point and Fault buttons to see firsthand how the written rules determine Player Positioning and Scoring.
Animation of Player movements on the App Court allows time to see which Players are moving and to where.
The start of each game establishes a Players Colour ID.
When the phone is worn by a Player (as distinct from a 5th Party monitoring the game) there is a Self-ID Function to eliminate the need to remember that Colour.
Using multiple presses on the bottom of screen Star Icon allow Player selection, and the 5th press establishes none.
New positions after each Play can also be identified more quickly using the Icon than by searching for a specific colour.
The number of Shots per Play(Point) is normally very low at the Beginner level, so it is reasonable to Credit the Server if a point is scored.
Therefore, in parallel with the Official Scoring, there is also a Bar Chart of Credits for all 4 players, which acts as a motivator and a means of sensing progress.
Also, remember that currently only 2 buttons are needed to Chart 4 Players, so when PBM provides true individual stats, it will be at the cost of more buttons to operate.
